Reasons why collections should be made quickly

a) If the slow collection results in the accumulation of overdue accounts, a more or less high proportion of the current assets of the company will be frozen with the consequent deterioration of liquidity.

b) The longer a debtor is allowed to fall behind on his payments, the greater the possibility that time will become a problem in the collection of the doubt.

c) The slowness of collections causes sales to lose, since an honest client who is late in his payments feels animosity to continue with his debt with greater orders and on the other hand, the person in charge of credits has in turn to restrict his line of credit granted to said client by confusing their intentions.

d) Failing to exercise collection effectively tends to help the reckless buyer sink, knowing that the selling company will grant him longer terms before taking drastic legal action against him.

e) A courteous but firm collection policy contributes to maintaining the respect of customers, which can be reflected in their reactions to the company’s sales efforts.

f) The prestige of the company, due to an effective collection policy, is also an important factor that achieves punctuality of payments in almost all debts.
